SAFARI - 7 DAYS

This 7-day safari offers a more considered pace and some of the best of Tanzania.

If you prefer a day to recover from a long haul flight and ease in to your safari, this is the tour for you.

  • Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be welcomed by one of our team and transferred for an overnight stay in Arusha giving you time to rest and unwind from your international flight.

  • Today is a chance to reset and settle in to the pace and flavour of a local Tanzanian village.

    You also have the option of visiting the Inuka Tusonge Vocational centre funded by Nina Imani a charity our Founder Dianna Snape started in 2019 supporting vulnerable women.

    You can also choose to dine at one of Tanzania’s most revered lodges or enjoy local Tanzania cuisine.

  • After breakfast you will depart for a tour of Kimemo Coffee Lodge where you will experience the art of coffee making. Rich in history this tour is the perfect start to your safari.

    You will then transit 3 hours to Maramboi Tented Lodge to take a dip in the pool and watch zebras graze.

    You can take a complimentary guided walk with one of the local Maasai to the edge of Lake Manyara, passing wildebeest, zebras and warthogs along the way.

    After dinner you can relax by the fire pit and enjoy the night sky.

  • Today begins with an early game drive of the Tarangire National Park. Outstanding seasonally for wildlife, the park is famous for it’s high density of elephants and baobab trees. You can expect to see large herds of zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, gazelles and lion are quite easily spotted as well.

    Being the sixth largest national park in Tanzania, Tarangire is a terrifically scenic park featuring classic African savannah, green hills, woodlands and rivers. It is especially famous for its large herds of elephants, superb birdlife and giant baobab trees. You can also expect to see large herds of zebra, wildebeest and giraffe. Lions can be quite easily spotted at this time, as well.

    An optional ballon ride at dawn over the park provides an incredible not to be missed unique safari experience.

  • After a buffet breakfast you will head to the town of Mto wa Mbu, a bustling farming community home to around 18,000 people. It is one of the most culturally diverse villages in Africa with over 120 different tribes. Its primary industry is agriculture.

    The word Mto wa Mbu literally means "Mosquito River". This is where you can get out and explore one of the most active villages in northern Tanzania, either on foot, on bike or in a tuk-tuk taking you through the banana plantations, rice fields and passing an incredible array of mud brick houses.

    In the afternoon you will game drive through Lake Manyara. Unlike the more Savanna dominated parks, its groundwater forests give you a delightful change of scenery. It is among the top ranked bird destinations in Tanzania, the shores of the lake, encrusted with pink flamingo, attract more than 400 species of birds. Large herds of buffalo, cheetah, giraffe and impala roam the lake shores and the forested valley slopes. Wildebeest exclusively graze the alkaline grasslands around the lake, and numbers are highest during the dry season.

  • Today you get up before dawn to descend into the Ngorongoro Crater a large, unbroken caldera formed when a giant volcano exploded and collapsed 3 million years ago.

    There is a huge range of animal species represented all year round including lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants, hippos and the almost extinct black rhino plus a vast array of bird life.

    Each vehicle is allowed 6 hours in the crater floor and after your game drive you will return to Arusha in the afternoon for your final night where you can enjoy some local Nyama Choma (African BBQ) or dine at one of Arusha’s premium lodges.

  • Today we bid you farewell and transfer you to Kilimanjaro Airport, in time for your flight home or to another destination in Africa. If you are staying on in Arusha this is where you will make your own arrangements.

    There is a huge range of animal species represented all year round including lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants, hippos and the almost extinct black rhino plus a vast array of bird life.

    After your game drive, you drive to the Empakaai Crater in the Ngorongoro Highlands where you will begin your hike, descending into the crater to experience the large alkaline soda lake. The lake is an important food source for the resident flamingoes, which can be seen throughout the year. Our crew will set up camp and dinner will be served shortly after you return.

  • Today you rise at dawn and set off after breakfast for a 15km walk to Acacia Campsite, passing through picturesque Maasai villages and rolling hills. You will be guided by Maasai, learning about local tribes and customs. This less traversed trail is a unique way to witness the changing lives of the Maasai, coupled with a spectacular and expansive landscape. You will camp for the night amongst beautiful acacia trees.

  • Today you set off early for a strenuous 20km hike along the rift wall providing 360 degree spectacular views.

    Views of Ol Doinya Lengai begin to emerge and dominate throughout the trail, teasing you with the possibility of conquering this majestic active volcano.

    Once down on the rift valley floor you will be collected by our drivers and transferred to Lake Natron.

    Lake Natron is 56 KM long, 24 KM wide and contains salt, soda and magnesite deposits.The lakes warm water is an ideal breeding ground for the rift valley flamingos. Nestled between rolling volcanic hills and deep craters, Lake Natron sits at the lowest point of the rift valley. The raw beauty of the Natron conservation area is breathtaking.

    You have the option of climbing Ol doinya Lengai at Lake Natron. Ol Doinya Lengai means "Mountain of God" in Maasai language and this mountain lives up to its name.

  • Today you get to rest, unwind and opt to enjoy some of Lake Natron's many activities including:

    - An early morning or late afternoon flamingo walk.

    - Bird Watching - Lake Natron flats, evening or morning walks to ponds.

    - Engare Sero water fall half day walk and swim.

    - Engare Sero Gorge Hike.

    - The Hominid Footprints Walk, revealing the human footprints preserved in volcanic ash dating back 120,000 years.

    The more adventurous can choose to set off around 11pm to summit Ol Doinya Lengai. Ascending begins around midnight so that you reach the summit for sunrise. The round trip takes approximately 10-12 hours, accompanied by an experienced local guide. 

  • This morning you are free to enjoy more of the activities that Natron has to offer.

    The Engaresero Falls walk takes 3-4 hours guided by Maasai, walking along the river valley and up the gorge where you you will find yourself amidst an oasis of waterfalls and palm trees. 

    In the afternoon you return to Arusha.

  • Lake Eyasi is located in the heart of the Great Rift Valley. As the soda lake is seasonal, during the drier months there may be little water, but the upside of this is the soda which attracts some lovely birdlife.

    The Hadzabe are hunter-gatherers who live only in the Lake Eyasi region of Tanzania. There are estimated to be around 1,300 Hadzabe people living in Tanzania. They are living a hunter-gatherer existence that is little changed from 10,000 years ago.

    As the sun rises you will enjoy a coffee and light breakfast before you join the Hadzabe tribe to get a taste of what life is like for one of the last nomadic hunting tribes left in Tanzania. You will join them to hunt, gather and hike. You will then visit the Datoga boma (Village) nearby who are skilled farmers and craftsman /silversmith’s and enjoy lunch at the lodge before you head off to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you will spend the night.

    In the afternoon you will visit the Hadzabe, a hunter gatherer tribe that grow no food, raise no livestock and live without rules or calendars.

  • Today you return to Arusha where you can relax and unwind in the afternoon or visit the Maasai Market where you can bargain for curios, carvings, beads, fabrics, table mats etc.

  • This corner of the Serengeti ecosystem is where wildebeest come to have their calves and February is calving season.

    The Great Migration is a fluid, year-round movement of about two million animals across the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem. They move after the rains and the growth of new grass, essentially following a natural instinct to find food to stay alive. Calving season is in February over 8 000 wildebeest babies are born each day. The calving season also introduces a host of predators looking to make a quick meal of the vulnerable calves. It's during this time when the southern Serengeti and western Ngorongoro Crater host the highest concentration of predators in Africa at any given time.

  • Serengeti National Park is part of the larger Serengeti ecosystem which covers 30,000 sq km and includes several other game reserves.

    The Serengeti National Park is comprised of grassland plains, savanna, riverine forest, and woodlands.

    The Serengeti National Park is globally renowned for its abundance and variety of wildlife as well as high biodiversity and particularly for the great wildebeest migration. One of the most exciting natural facets of the migration occurs in September or October when the migrating herd of wildebeest, zebra, and other ungulates cross the Mara River into Kenya and the Masai Mara National Park. Watching hundreds of wildebeest cross the river at any given moment is a spectacular sight.

  • Today you will enjoy a morning game drive in the Serengeti before heading off for the long drive back to Arusha.

  • Stone Town is the heart and soul of the island. An incredible maze of winding alleys and old Arabic-style buildings. You can soak up the local culture by enjoying the many bars and restaurants or just meandering through the streets discovering unique little spots at every turn.

  • Stone Town offers many tours from simple guided walking tours, through to 1/2 day spice tours - complete with a traditional Swahili lunch.

UGANDA GORILLA SAFARI - 5 DAYS

Enjoy the isolated jungles of East Africa

This 5-day safari takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park on the edge of the Rift Valley. Its mist-covered hillsides are blanketed by one of Uganda’s oldest and most biologically diverse rain forests, which dates back over 25,000 years.

  • On your arrival at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda you will be welcomed and transferred for an overnight stay in Entebbe.

  • After your breakfast you depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

    The park is 550 km from Entebbe (9-10 Hours) on mostly paved roads providing insights into the different regions and districts of this beautiful country. You can break the journey up with the famous stop at the equator crossing at Kayabwe (2 Hours from Entebbe).

    Depending upon the region of Bwindi Forest you are visiting there are several routes, your allocated permit which dictate the most appropriate route.

  • Today you depart at 8am and set off with a ranger guide in search of a family of the worlds most endangered mountain gorillas. Bwindi forest in Uganda has a population of about 370 gorillas, which is half the world population.

    Gorilla tracking is a strenuous exercise but an hour with these gentle giants will be etched in your mind for years to come. The time taken to locate the Gorillas ranges from 1 hour to several hours depending upon their movement.

    You will be in a group of a maximum of 8 people and your permit allows you 1 hour with these majestic creatures.

  • After you breakfast you return to Kampala or Entebbe.

WESTERN UGANDA SAFARI - 8 DAYS

Where the savannah meets the tropical rainforest

This 8-day safari takes you to the famous national parks of Western Uganda - Kibale Forest National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park & Lake Mburo National Park. You can expect to see the incredible wildlife of the savannahs: lion, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, hippo, leopard and up to 15 primate species, including gorillas and chimpanzees.

  • On your arrival at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel to unwind and rest before heading off early tomorrow morning.

  • After breakfast you depart for Kibale National Park with a stopover in Fort Portal, the capital town of Tooro kingdom which lies on the shadow of Rwenzori Mountains, the biggest mountain range in Africa.

  • After breakfast, set off on a chimpanzee tracking experience.

    In the afternoon you will be transferred to the Queen Elizabeth National Park with mysterious view of the mountain of the moon passing the equator en-route.

  • Set off for an early morning game in the national park where you can expect to see elephants, buffaloes, spotted hyenas, waterbucks, Ugandan kobs, and if you’re lucky lion and leopard. In the afternoon, take an exciting 2 hours boat cruise on Kazinga channel, one of the most popular sites in Uganda for its concentration of wildlife and birdlife.

  • After breakfast, you will drive through the National Park to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for tree climbing lions. After lunch, game drive in search of the tree climbing lions before departing for Bwindi Impenetrable.

    Today’s transfer will depend on the location of the gorilla permits and road conditions. Accommodation will depend on the group of gorillas you will be tracking.

  • After breakfast you will visit Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest of the Ugandan National Parks. You will game drive in search of animals like impalas, zebras, elands and other antelopes.

  • Today you will have an early morning guided game walk in the park for a unique wildlife experience before transiting to the airport for your onward flight.
